Applicant FAQ

What is the process of applying for the team?

You'll need to fill the form above to start. After filling the form, you will get a link to the applicant server which you should join using the same Discord account. We're doing initial reviews of most applications in under five days, but it might take a little longer depending on our workload and the complexity of the application!

To determine whether you're fit for the position you're applying to:
  • We may conduct a voice interview with you, if you apply as a Community Manager or a Moderator.
  • For all other positions, you may get one or more trial tasks you will have to complete in limited time.

Do I need prior experience in order to apply?

At this time, all positions available on the website require you to submit your portfolio to apply. We will not review any applications without a portfolio. Worry not though - you may apply even with limited experience, as long as you have something to show us!

Does the team get paid?

All positions on the Toontown: Event Horizon team are voluntary and unpaid. The entirety of the project is a non-profit passion endeavor fueled by a love for Toontown and an eye for new horizons.

Can I apply again if I was denied before?

Yes! We encourage most rejected applicants to improve their skills and reapply later on. We typically enforce a 30 day cooldown between application attempts; this prevents our systems from getting flooded with applications, and helps YOU learn more about the position you're applying to!

How much time do I need to spend to fill the needs of the team?

Event Horizon is a volunteer project. While we uphold a requirement of a regular amount of contributions from each team member, most of us are involved in our free time and manage our work here alongside work and/or studies. We're always willing to discuss and negotiate availability within the team to ensure each volunteer takes up a plan comfortable for them!

Are there any other requirements to apply?

You must be 18 years old or above, and cannot have recent infractions in our public server or in one of other major Toontown servers - feel free to reach out if you're unsure. (This means, for example, you cannot apply if you recently got banned on Toontown Rewritten or Toontown: Corporate Clash. Sorry!)

If you received your latest infraction on a major Toontown server at least 3 months ago and want to apply, feel free to open a management ticket in our Discord server to discuss the circumstances of the infraction.

Certain positions also require references from another staff member if you want to join the team, in order to ensure the consistency of works in those positions. This currently applies to the following positions: Storywriter.
